AT-ATs were large, quadrepedal machines resembling great mechanical beasts. Their primary purpose was transportation of more vulnerable units across the battlefield, but the Empire would also use them as weapons of terror. One of its few shortcomings was a weak point in its neck, which, when attacked, could bring easy destruction to the walker.
Their most useful deployment would be in the attack of emplacements defended by shields, which repulsor equipped craft could not penetrate. It could carry either 40 Imperial stormtroopers and 5 speeder bikes, or 2 AT-ST units (which were presumably carried disassembled, due to the otherwise prohibitive size of the AT-ST). The stormtroopers could be deployed via rappeling cable, but the heavier ordinance could only exit after the slow and comparatively awkward process of the AT-AT kneeling and extending its ramps. AT-ATs and AT-STs were deployed from orbit by Y-85 Titan dropships.
The arsenal of the AT-AT was quite devastating, as they possessed two chin-mounted heavy laser cannons to destroy slow, bulky targets and two temple-mounted medium blaster cannons which could engage lighter targets. The armor plating was too thick for blasters to penetrate, and they could walk over—and thereby crush—people and equipment. Powering the walking system of the AT-AT was a fuel slug underneath the body of the vehicle.
With the limited funds of the Empire Reborn, the AT-AT is only based at the most important locations (Such as the Imperial Capital of Elrood) and a limited number are placed in the Army's Brigades. |

The AT-ST was viewed by Imperial commanders as a highly versatile weapon, excelling against infantry and light armored vehicles, but also useful for protecting vital units and patrolling hostile areas.
Also known as a "chicken walker" because of its shape and walking motion, the AT-ST was a heavily armed light ground combat vehicle. It was equipped with a chin-mounted double medium laser cannon, a concussion grenade launcher on the left side of its head, and a blaster cannon on the right. The chin guns had an effective range of 2 kilometers and were used for anti-vehicle attacks, while the blaster and grenade launcher provided close-range protection. AT-STs are piloted by a crew of two drivers.
The bipedal propulsion system was also one of the primary weaknesses of the AT-ST. While on even terrain the walker could achieve over 90 kilometers per hour, on uneven or shifting terrain a walker could easily become unbalanced enough to fall over. This was demonstrated during the Battle of Endor when Ewoks released a large pile of logs and stones to roll down the hill into the path of an AT-ST. The walker was unable to handle the rapidly shifting ground, and despite attempts by the pilot to stabilize the vehicle, it fell on its side and was destroyed.
At the Battle of Hoth, several AT-STs were deployed to provide cover for the larger AT-AT walkers. These were of a different model than the more regular AT-ST seen on Endor. The chin-cannons had longer barrels, the light blaster cannon was of a different make, the "head" of the walker was not as blocky and it had longer legs, making it slightly taller than the stock-version. It is possible this model was more specialized for escort/assault missions, although not as heavily as the 10 meter tall AT-ST/As. It could also have been a specially-modified model for polar climates.
Currently, the Imperial Army utilizes the ATST in Heavy and Light Armor Units. |

The All Terrain Personal Transport (AT-PT) was a light anti-infantry walker used towards the later years of the Old Republic era for taking a single trooper into intense combat situations, manufactured by Rothana Heavy Engineering, a subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards. AT-PTs are driven by Imperial AT-PT pilots.
It came into being during the Clone Wars, when the Republic found need for a small walker, a purpose that the AT-PT served well, standing only 3 meters tall. It was lightly armoured, and had twin blaster cannons and a concussion grenade launcher that were only effective against infantry. However, its superior agility made up for its light armor.
The AT-PT was a limited production model, the majority of which were stationed aboard the Dreadnaughts of the legendary Katana fleet, and were lost when the fleet itself vanished; they, along with the fleet, were rediscovered by the New Republic, and were used in the Republic's war with Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Many of the concepts pioneered in the AT-PT were used in the AT-AP, AT-ST and the AT-AT. The Galactic Empire still utilized a limited number of these walkers, as did the Rebel Alliance.
A number of AT-PTs served as part of Blizzard Force during the Battle of Hoth, presumably in a rear-guard role.
Currently, the Imperial Army utilizes the ATPT in Lite Armor and Artillary Units. |

The Heavy Assault Vehicle/wheeled (HAVw) A5 Juggernaut was a large assault vehicle used during the Clone Wars by the Galactic Republic. During the last days of the wars, the Juggernaut was one of the most powerful ground vehicles. Soldiers commonly referred to the Juggernaut as the "rolling slab" due of its brute size and boxy appearance.
The Juggernaut primary frame was a 21.8 by 15 meter shell with heavy armor plating. Inside the armored box, the Juggernaut could carry from fifty to three hundred troops and equipment, a complement of close support craft like speeder bikes and light airspeeders, or a mix of both.
The massive frame rested upon five pairs of oversized wheels connected to a flexible system of shocks, servos and enhanced suspension that allowed the Juggernaut to achieve speeds of 160 kilometers per hour on flat terrain. This drive system allowed the Juggernaut a distinct advantage in urban atmospheres, but made traversing dense or unstable terrain a challenge.
Although fast on flat terrain, the Juggernaut was slow to move through its tight turning radius. The innovation of cockpits at both ends of the craft allowed to smooth the process, but also led to confusion when the pilots failed to coordinate, locking the wheels in opposite directions.
Six gunners that received targeting information from a spotter and sensor operator perched in a 360-degree-view sentry tower placed above the rear command cabin coordinated the Juggernaut’s weapons systems. Each gunner was responsible for one weapon system, which included two fixed forward-facing heavy laser cannons, one turreted heavy laser cannon, one turreted blaster cannon and two turreted concussion grenades. The predominance of turreted weaponry further enhanced the Juggernaut’s usefulness in urban combat theaters, particularly the anti-personnel weapons that provided cover for disembarking troops.
Currently, the Imperial Army utilizes the Juggernaut in Heavy Armor Units. |

The LAVr QH-7 Chariot was a command speeder issued to most Imperial ground forces.
It had a flight-ceiling of 8 meters, making it capable of traversing difficult terrain. In addition to a forward laser cannon, it also had extensive armor for added protection of it´s passengers, which mostly consisted of command staff. In battle, surrounding vehicles were expected to defend against attacking enemy troops.
Able to keep up with advancing walkers and other repulsor-craft, the Chariot was designed for rear-echelon duty, serving as a mobile command-center filled with tactical computers and holoscreens. The commander in charge could coordinate up to a dozen combat units, while simultaneously transmitting to the Central Military Command. A Chariot´s staff consisted of a commander, a driver, a gunner and at least four communication droids.
Most of the speeder´s rear contained electronic counter-measures, which provided some protection against EM bursts and other disruptive tactics. Its communications array was equipped with signal-scramblers, which made any outgoing messages nearly impossible to decipher.
Currently, the Imperial Army utilizes the Chariot in Infantry/Assault Units. However, if an AT-AT is not present on the battle field, you will most likely see the Field Commander in a LAVr QH-7 Chariot. |

HAVr A9 Floating Fortress was designed and produced by Ubrikkian to aid ground assault and occupational forces.
It was a heavily armoured, repulsorlift craft armed with two top-mounted turreted heavy blaster cannons. These weapons were aided by two piercing targeting beams, which could lock on to a high number of targets in the vehicle´s vicinity, using the TIN sensor-equipment.
Quite well-adapted to urban warfare, many felt it was better at suppressing urban uprisings than the AT-AT walker, and crews of both vehicles had a long-standing rivalry. While the AT-AT was supported by the Imperial Army, the Floating Fortress was backed by occupational commanders.
The narrow width of the HAVr A9 allowed it to cruise between buildings in even the most crowded city center. A curved box, the HAVr A9 ran 17.4 meters in length, required a pair of drivers and a pair of gunners, carried ten assault troops and one metric ton of cargo, and could hover up to two meters above a surface.
Currently, the Imperial Army utilizes the Floating Fortress in Infantry/Assault Units. |
